Kayla Bright

Kayla Bright joined the fire service in 2016 at the Delaware City Fire Company. She joined Aetna's Live-In program in June of 2021 and has earned NFPA Firefighter I & II certifications as well as her National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification. Kayla is a student at the University of Delaware and is studying Medical Diagnostics with a focus on Pre-Physicians Assistant. Kayla feels that Aetna HH&L company best suits her so she can provide “service to others” to her fellow UD students and the greater Newark area.

Jack Bainter

Jack began his journey in the fire service in 2018, starting his service with the Hockessin Fire Company. In 2021, Jack initially joined Aetna as a member before later becoming a live-in member in 2022. His certifications are ProBoard FF1 and FF2, Hazmat Ops, Fire Officer 1, Swift Water Technician, and is working towards his NREMT. Currently pursuing Criminal Justice studies at Delaware Technical College, Jack's commitment to service extends beyond firefighting. Recently, he secured a full-time position with the Delaware Air National Guard Fire Department at the Wilmington Airport in January 2024, alongside his work at The Ski Bum. When not on duty, Jack enjoys mountain biking and snowboarding. He joined Aetna to gain more experience and to continue to serve his community. 

Garrett Checchi

Garrett joined Aetna in 2023 after serving as a firefighter in New Castle County at the Talleyville Fire Company. He holds Pro Board Certifications in FF1 & FF2 and Hazmat Operations. Garrett joined Aetna to gain experience with a high call volume fire department in hopes of pursuing a career in firefighting. In his free time he enjoys running, camping, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Riley Graham

Riley started in the fire service in 2018 with the Singerly Fire Company in Elkton, MD. Riley joined Aetna's Live-In program in May of 2022. He has a variety of training, including Firefighter 1 & 2. He is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. Riley was hired by the Lewes Fire Department in October of 2023, where he currently works as an FF/EMT.  

Andrew Hatfield

Andrew joined the fire service in 2020 with the Dover Fire Department. In May of 2023, he joined Aetna as a Live In. He holds a variety of certifications, from ProBoard FF1 and FF2, Hazmat Ops, Fire Officer 1, Fire Instructor 1. Andrew is also a NREMT, and working part-time in New Castle County. In addition, Andrew works as an Instructor Aide for the Delaware State Fire School. Andrew currently attends the University of Delaware, majoring in Operations Management. Andrew joined Aetna as a place to focus on furthering his education, and to become a better firefighter for future endeavors. After college, Andrew plans on applying to a career fire department, or commissioning in the United States Air Force. 

Ian Macnamara-Zito 

 Ian began in the fire service in 2020 with the Brighton Fire Department which is located just outside of Rochester, NY. Ian joined Aetna’s live-in program in May of 2023 in hopes of improving his skills as a firefighter and gaining experience. In addition to the live-in program, Ian works at the Five Points Fire Company and is pursuing his bachelor's degree in emergency management and disaster response. Ian joined Aetna to gain more experience and further advance him in his career of firefighting.

Tim Marker

Tim is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has been a fireman for 7 years. Tim is also active duty military at Dover Air Force Base, serving as a fireman on base. 

James Mooney

James became a firefighter in the fall of 2018 with North Branch Fire Company, located in Branchburg, New Jersey. After transferring to the University of Delaware, he became a live-in at Aetna in 2022. Currently, James holds NFPA Firefighter I & II, Hazmat Operations, Swift-water Rescue Technician and has plans to become an EMT. Currently, James is a student at the University of Delaware, studying Criminal Justice, with hopes of pursuing a career in law enforcement after graduation. In his free time, he enjoys spending time skiing, hiking, fishing and working out. He joined Aetna because he wanted to continue helping others and serving the community of Newark while away at college, allowing him to do what he loves. 

Robert Pinski

Robert joined his home department located in Connecticut, back in October 2019. Robert currently holds his Pro board Firefighter 1/2, and National registry EMT certification. Robert joined Aetna’s live-in program in June of 2023 and currently works for the city of Salisbury located in Maryland, as a full time FF/EMT.
