This added Christiana Fire Company (3-6-12), Singerly Fire Company (Cecil County 3-13- 14), and Medic 6 to the response. 2 minutes later 9-8C requested the working fire upgrade which added Delaware City Fire Company (15) and Chesapeake City Fire Company (Cecil County 2-12) to the response. 2 members of 9-5's crew advanced a 1 3/4" hand line into the structure, while the driver and an additional crew member hand stretched 500' of 5" supply line to the hydrant. Once the interior crew began trying to attack the fire they found that they were not making much progress. The wind was also not helping as it was blowing the fire across the roof. Once the supply line was charged 9-5's deck gun was placed in service in order to knock down some of the roof fire.
