Deputy Chief Brian Hendricks started his service to the community in 1981 serving in the US Navy as a Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsman Better known as a "GRUNT" Corpsman providing Pre-Hospital Care to wounded Marines, While serving in the Navy Brian challenged the NLN nursing boards in California and scored in the top 2% in the state. Deputy Hendricks also spent time in Charleston SC, where he was assigned to the Naval Hospital Charlestons EMS Division. There he attained certification as a NREMT-P and worked with Charleston County EMS along with Berkeley County EMS where he received the Meritorious Service award and the Humanitarian Service Medal for actions taken during Hurricaine Hugo.

He then transferred to Portsmouth Naval Hospital to attend The Naval Operating Room Personnel Training Program to work in the operating room as a first assist during surgical procedures. Upon completion, Brian was assigned to the Naval Medical Research Institute in Bethesda, Md where he assisted in medical research programs in diving medicine and septic shock research and received his IFSAC Certification for FF1&2, and PRO Board Fire Officer 1.

While in Bethesda he was selected to become the Military Attache for the Secretary for Health and Human Services the Honorable Donna Shalala. While stationed in the DC area, he moonlighted working Kelly days for Prince Georges County riding out the Silver Hill Station in the area of Branch Ave and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

Brian is employed by the First State Orthopaedics Group where he assists surgeons with spine and orthopaedics.

Deputy Chief Hendricks is entering his twenty fifth year with Aetna and has served as an officer for 20 years total serving as a fire line officer for the last 16 Years consistently. He has held the positions of Ambulance Captain, Captain, 2nd Assistant Chief, 1st Assistant Chief, Deputy, Chief of the Department and now is Deputy Chief for Station10. 

He Currently Holds the title of Director with the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association and has been appointed by the President of the DVFA to they state Governmental Affairs Committee for the past two years. 

Deputy Chief Hendricks takes pride in Aetna and likes the rich history of the Company, He is always good for challenging younger members on the history of Aetna with questions of various times and places of events in the history of the Company.
