EMS Captain (9 Captain 2)  Jon Townley jtownley@aetnahhl.org Departmental Responsibilities EMS Captain Townley joined Aetna in 1972 as a firefighter EMT. He served Aetna fire and EMS operations in a number of positions including Rescue Captain, Deputy Fire Chief and Chief of the Department. He is a certified EMT B. He was appointed EMS Captain in 2011. Jon’s experience in the private sector as a business owner and manger led him to seek the office of President of the Fire Department, a position he held for four years. He had previously served as Vice President. He is a life member of Aetna. Jon was elected to several important leadership posts in the county, state and national fire service organizations. He was elected President of the New Castle County Chiefs Association, the Delaware State Chiefs Association and the Eastern Division International Association of Fire Chiefs. Currently Jon manages the financial matters of several associations as treasurer. Jon is employed as a career firefighter/EMT in a neighboring fire department. He owns a consulting firm that specializes in providing financial management to fire departments. |
