On 19 December 2012, just before 02:00 hours, Stations 7,8,9,10 and mutual aid companies were alerted to working structure fire with injuries on Hobart Drive. On arrival, heavy fire and smoke was blowing out the roof from building 72. Immediately on arrival, Deputy 8 called for a 2nd alarm. BLS Units and New Castle County Paramedics quickly assessed the injured and intervened as necessary. Firefighters and apparatus from multiple mutual aid companies used at least 7 hand lines and 3 master streams to control the fire and prevent spread to other adjacent units. The majority of the fire appeared to be knocked down within an hour and the scene was placed under control at approximately 03:25 hours. While crews remained on scene well into the morning, the majority of crews cleared the scene approximately 06:00.

Mutual Aid companies: Christiana, Mill Creek, Delaware City, Belvedere, Hockessin, Cranston Heights, Odessa, Middletown, Newport, as well as other companies who provided engine and ladder coverage to handle other incidents in district.
