Working Residential Fire

At 1514 hours on 6/25/2015, Aetna along with mutual aid units were dispatched to 401 Elderfield Road in the Todd Estates development of Newark for a working residential fire.  Deputy Chief 10 (Duncan) arrived on scene reporting smoke showing from the 2nd floor.  Crews from Aetna and the Christiana Fire Company arrived simultaneously and deployed 2 hand lines to control the fire.  2 patients were transported to CER with smoke inhalation and unfortunately one dog succumbed to the fire.  Deputy 10 had Newark Command and the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is handling the investigation.

Companies Responded: Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company, Christiana Fire Company, Minquas Fire Company, Five Points Fire Company, NCCEMS, DSFMO.
