posted Feb 18, 2014, 6:13 AM by Charles Mitchell
Just before 0700 hours on Sunday Feb. 16th, Aetna and neighboring fire districts were alerted to a house fire in the 100 block of Chadd Rd. in the Drummond North neighborhood. Shortly after responding, NCC Fireboard upgraded the incident to a working alarm, which dispatched a RIT company. Engine 9-5 arrived on scene and reported a 3 story townhouse with smoke showing from the 3rd floor side A. Crew from E95 secured a hydrant and advanced a hand line to the seat of the fire and quickly extinguished the fire on the 3rd floor. Crews from Aetna, Mill Creek, Cranston Heights and Christiana operated for approximately 1 hour. There were no injuries. The Delaware State fire Marshal is investigating the blaze.
