Rollover with Entrapment

On January 24th at 15:03, Aetna, along with NCC Medic 6, was alerted for a MVC reported with a rollover at Corporate Boulevard and Executive Drive.  Ambulances A-7 and A-10 along with Engines 7-4 and 9-5 all made the response.  Medic 6 was first to arrive, and they reported that one vehicle was on its' side and the driver was trapped.  The majority of Aetna's units arrived at 15:10, with Deputy 9 establishing command.  The crews from 7-4 and 9-5 utilized rescue struts and cribbing in order to stabilize the vehicle.  Holmatro tools and a Sawzall were then placed in service in order to flap the roof down.  Crews worked for several minutes before extrication was completed at 15:26.  The patient was then immobilized and placed in A-10 for transport.  A-10 transported the patient with non-life-threatening injuries to Christiana ER with Medic 6.  A-7 transported the driver of the 2nd vehicle to Christiana ER as well with only minor injuries.  The incident was placed under control by Deputy 9 at 15:50, and all units were clear the scene shortly after.
