Assist Middletown on Restaurant Fire

At 15:31 on June 27th, NCC Fire Board had recieved a report of a plant on fire in front of the Friendly's Restaurant located at 350 Dove Run Centre Drive in Middletown.  That fire quickly spread to the building and extended rapidly.  Now there were multiple calls reporting the building to be on fire.  Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown (1-27) was alerted along with surrounding departments.  1st arriving units reported a working building fire, with fire through the roof.  At this point Aetna was dispatched to assist at 15:35.  Engine 9-5 made the response after just clearing a crash in the Glasgow area.  Command reported that the fire would be exterior operations only, and multiple handlines and master streams were placed in service to attack the fire.  The bulk of the fire was reported knocked down as 9-5 arrived at 15:51.  9-5's crew assisted with extinguishment and overhaul.  9-5 operated for just over 2 hours before being released at 17:59.
