On Sunday March 30 at approximately 0220, Aetna and mutual aid units were alerted to a multi-residential fire at the Drummond Hill Apartments. While units were en-route NCC fireboard advised that they were receiving multiple calls reporting a fire.

Units arrived to find heavy smoke throughout the building and discovered a fire on the second floor.  Crews searched the building where the fire was located as well as the adjacent building and rescued one dog (the dog suffered no injuries).  The occupant of the fire apartment was transported to the hospital by UD1 (University of Delaware Emergency Care Unit).  Crews extinguished the fire and units remained on scene until the Red Cross arrived to assist residents.

Thank you to the following companies for providing assistance: University of Delaware, Christiana Fire Company, Mill Creek Fire Company, Cranston Heights Fire Company, New Castle County EMS
