On February 6th at 09:56, Aetna was dispatched for a MVC with injuries on Old County Road in the area of Lyric Drive.  Ambulances A-10 and B-9 along with Engine 9-5 made the response.  A-10 arrived at 10:03 and found a single vehicle crash with a car into a telephone pole.  A-10's crew quickly determined that the single occupant was trapped in the vehicle and reported entrapment to Fire Board.  This added NCC Medic 6 and Trooper 4 to the response.  Rescue 27 (Volunteer Hose Company) was on the road in the area and was added to the response as well.  Rescue 27 arrived at 10:09 followed by 9-5 at 10:12.  The crews from Rescue 27 and 9-5 stabilized the vehicle and placed their Holmatro Rescue Tools in service.  Both crews worked together in order to complete a side wall removal on the driver's side.  Extrication was completed at 10:26.  The patent was then packaged and placed in B-9 for transport to the landing zone of Trooper 4.  The patient was then placed in Trooper 4 and flown to Christiana ER for treatment.  Command placed the incident under control at 10:32 and all units were clear the scene by 10:50.

Units on Scene: B-9, 9-5, A-10, Rescue 27, Medic 6, Trooper 4, and New Castle county Police.
