On Christmas Eve at 15:16 the stations, along with Christianan Fire Company (3-6-12) and Singerly Fire Company (Cecil County 3-13-14), were dispatched for a townhouse fire on East Edgewater Way. Engines 9-5 and 10-5 went responding within 3 minutes of dispatch. While units were responding, Fire Police 8-9 went on location and reported fire showing. With that report Middletown Fire Company (1-27) was added for the Rapid Intevention Team, along with Delaware City Fire Company (15) for an ambulance and New Castle County EMS for Medic 6 and ALS 25. 10-5 arrived at 15:24 and laid a 5" supply line from the hydrant. 10-5 was followed by 9-5 and Engine 12-6. Crews found fire venting from the front bedroom on the 2nd floor. The crews from 9-5 and 10-5 placed a 1 3/4" hand line in service and advanced it to the 2nd floor. They were able to enter the bedroom and attack the fire as the crew from 12-6 conducted search and ventilation. The fire was quickly knocked down and crews began opening up the walls and ceilings to check for extension. The crew from Engine 3-6 operated in both exposure buildings where they checked for extension as well. All checks for extension turned up negative. Additional crews from Engines 8-2 and 10-2 relieved the initial crews in the fire building and performed overhaul. The incident was placed under control by Deputy 10 at !5:39. B-15 transported 3 to Christianan ER for evaluation due to minor smoke inhalation. After the Fire Marshal's investiagtion and overhaul was completed, all units were clear the scene at 17:22.
