posted Mar 14, 2017, 9:44 AM by Jeffrey Sands, Assistant Chief 7-8B
At 1826 hours on 3/12/2017 Aetna along with mutual aid from Christiana Fire, Mill Creek Fire Company - Stations 2&21, Cranston Heights Fire Company, and Five Points Fire Company were dispatched to the unit block of Terry Lane in the Terry Manor development for a multi-residential structure fire. Due to smoke visible from a distance, Squad 9 requested New Castle County Paramedics and a BLS from Hockessin Fire Company - Station 19 to be added to the response. Crews arrived on scene to find a single story residence with smoke and fire showing from the Alpha side. The fire was quickly controlled and searches were negative. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Units remained on scene for two hours due to extensive overhaul. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office is handling the investigation and Deputy Chief Schall had Newark Command.
