Operation 6ABC Save a Life

posted Apr 3, 2012, 5:04 PM by Charles Mitchell
On March 21st, Vice President Thompson and Assistant Chief Daniels traveled to the Philadelphia Fire Academy to participate in the 20th annual Operation 6ABC Save a Life campaign.  This annual program is sponsered by Action News 6ABC, Tri-State Toyota Dealers, The Home Depot, and Kidde.  This year Kidde provided smoke alarms outfitted with sealed batteries that will last 10 years.  They donated 7000 of these alarms to participating fire departments from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.  39 of these 10 year detectors were provided to Aetna on this day.  Your single best defense in the event of a fire is a working smoke alarm on every floor of your house.  If you've had the same smoke alarm for more than 10 years, it's time to replace it.
