Newark House Fire

On July 14th at 15:35 Aetna, along with Christiana Fire Company (3-6-12) and Mill Creek Fire Company (2-21), was dispatched for a house fire at 225 East Park Place.  Ambulance A-8 arrived at 15:39 and reported smoke showing.  That report would add Hockessin Fire Company (19) for the RIT and NCC EMS Medic 9 to the response.  Engine 9-5 arrived just behind A-8 and laid a 5" supply line from the hydrant, and the crew placed a 1 3/4" hand line in service.  The fire had started in the kitchen and was now extending to the 2nd floor of the residence.  As additional crews from Engine 7-4, Engine 10-5, Rescue 8, and mutual aid companies arrived, they assisted with extinguishment, search, and ventilation.  Crews worked for almost an hour before bringing the incident under control at 16:34.  Crews remained on scene for about another hour completing overhaul, and placing equipent back in service.  All units were clear the scene at 17:49. 

Units On Scene: 7-4, A-8, Rescue 8, 9-5, 10-5, A-6, 12-6, 2-6, 21-7, Rescue 19, Medic 9, and Newark Fire Marshal.
