MVC with Entrapment

On June 12th at 08:37 stations 7,8,9,10, along with NCC Medic 9, were alerted for an MVC reported with rollover in the area of Casho Mill Road and Church Road in Newark.  Ambulance B-9 was 1st to arrive, finding a mini van off the roadway and on its' side.  Upon approaching the vehicle it was found that the driver was still inside and unable to get out on her own.  Medic 9 and Engine 7-4 were next to arrive.  The crew from 7-4 began stabilizing the vehicle so that the patient could be extricated.  Rescue 8 arrived and assisted with stabilization as well.  The crew from 7-4 and Rescue 8 then placed rescue tools in service and removed the windshield and a section of the roof.  Once crews were able to access the patient, she was immobilized and removed from the vehicle.  Extrication was completed at 09:08 and 1 patient was transported to CER via B-9 and Medic 9.  The incident was placed under control at 09:16 with all FD units clearing the scene shortly after.
