Motor Vehicle Collision with Entrapment

This morning Aetna along with the Singerly Fire CompanyNew Castle County Paramedics​, and Delaware State Police Aviation Section were dispatched to I-95 Northbound at the off-ramp to 896 for a motor vehicle collision with rollover. Units arrived to find a dump truck on its side with the driver trapped with an arm pinned under the vehicle. The Emergency Rescue Towing Policy was put into effect summoning a rotator wrecker from B&F Towing, USAR-13 from Claymont Fire Company​, and a rescue/engine from Christiana Fire for manpower. Crews utilized hydraulic rescue tools and air bags to free the driver from the vehicle in just under an hour while NCC*EMS provided patient care. The patient was transferred to Trooper 4 for transport to Christiana Hospital and Delaware State Police​ are handling the investigation. Chief Bowerson had Newark Command.
