I-95 MVC

On August 16, 2012 at 0330 Aetna, Singerly and Medic 6D were alerted to an MVC with the patient reported not alert on I95 SB at the Maryland Line. A7 and CE391 arrived on scene about 3/4 of a mile south of the toll plaza to find a box truck with heavy damage and a single occupant inside. Debris from the truck and its contents were spread over a half mile on the roadway. A separate tractor trailer was also involved, sustaining minor rear end damage. DSP reported the driver was uninjured. Crews determined that the occupant of the first vehicle was a DOA. E95, M6D, R8 and Cecil County Rescue 13 arrived on scene shortly after. Additional BLS and TPR4 were cancelled by 95 officer at that time. A7 crew assisted M6D in obtaining a pronouncement of the occupant. A7, M6D and Cecil County units cleared the scene. R8 and 95 remained on scene to assist with traffic. 95 and R8 cleared by 0518, turning the scene over to DSP. At 0553 95 returned to the scene to assist the Medical Examiner. I95 SB was completely shut down until 1130, causing major delays in the area.
