House Fire

At 1839 hours, Aetna along with mutual aid from Christiana Fire, Mill Creek Fire Company - Stations 2&21, Cranston Heights Fire Company were dispatched to the 900 block of Devon Drive in Newark for a residental fire. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from a 2 story single family dwelling with a fire in the basement. New Castle County Paramedics were added to the response. The fire was quickly extinguished, searches were negative, and two cats were safely removed from the structure. Two occupants were displaced by the fire and crews operated for just over an hour. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is handling the investigation and Deputy Chief Schall had Newark Command.
