Harmony Hills House Fire

On Thursday, December 19th, 2013 at approximately 1400 hours Stations 2/21, 7/8/9/10, 3/6/12 were alerted for a house fire in the 300 block of Tamra Circle. Engine 93 made the response with a crew of five for the engine assist to the Mill Creek Fire Company (Stations 2/21). While units were en-route NCC Fireboard advised that NCC Police was on scene reporting fire showing and a victim on fire in the residence. Upon the arrival of BLS unit B7, it was confirmed that a victim was trapped inside the residence. First arriving Rescue/Engine 126 stretched a 1-3/4" hose line and began an aggressive fire suppression effort and simultaneous rescue efforts. The next arriving unit was Engine 93, Assistant Chief Cavanaugh (9-8B) split the crew and assigned members to a second hand line off R/E 126 and to assist with rescue efforts. After conferring with the officer of R/E 126, Chief Cavanaugh established the "Harmony Hills Command". Crews from both E/R 126 and E93 made quick work of suppressing the fire and locating the victim. Unfortunately, the victim was found deceased in the residence. Command instructed crews to protect the area while a primary search was finished. Incoming units were assigned ventilation, RIT, secure the utilities and overhaul. The scene was turned over to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for investigation. Command was turned over to Assistant Chief 2-8B of the Mill Creek Fire Company.
