Fatal MVC

At 0220 hours on 4/16/2015, Aetna, along with Cecil County Rescue 13, NCCEMS Medic Medic 6, ALS 23, and Trooper 4 were dispatched to Interstate 95 Northbound just prior to Exit 1 for an MVC reported with entrapment and the vehicle on fire.  Crews arrived to find a car vs. a tractor trailer with the car on fire.  The driver of the tractor trailer was transported as a "Trauma Alert" to CER and the driver of the car was pronounced on scene.  Units operated for approx. 3 hours and HAZMAT 30 was requested due to a large diesel spill.  The Delaware State Police are investigating the collision and Chief 9-8 had command.

Units Responded: Chief 9-8, Deputy 7, Engine 9-5, Engine 7-4, Cecil Rescue 13, B-12, A-7, B-7, NCCEMS Medic 6, NCCEMS ALS 23, DSP Trooper 4, HAZMAT 30.
