posted Sep 22, 2012, 8:00 AM by Charles Mitchell
On September 3rd at 16:26, Aetna was dispatched for a MVC with injuries at the intersection of Casho Mill Road and Timber Creek Lane.  Due to numerous other medical emergencies going on in the district at the time, Minquas Fire Company (23) ambulance A-23 had been providing coverage at this time and made the response.  Engine 7-4 responded as well.  Assistant chief 7-8B arrived at 16:30 and found a single vehicle crash.  The vehicle had sustained significant damage after striking a telephone pole and several other objects on the side of the road.  Newark Police were already on scene, and had contacted City Electric.  A-23 arrived and began assessing the single occupant of the vehicle.  7-4 arrived and established a safe area around the downed telephone pole.  As A-23 packaged the patient, they requested an ALS unit due to the severity of the crash.  They then transported the patient to Christiana ER and were going to meet  NCC Medic 6 en route.  The incident was placed under control at 16:40, and all FD units were clear the scene at 16:49.
