On July 27th at 10:56 Delaware City Fire Company (15) and surrounding mutual aid companies were alerted for a building fire at 1696 South Dupont Highway.  Due to the multiple calls that Fire Board was receiving about the fire, the alarm was upgraded to a working building fire.  Aetna was then alerted at 10:59 for an engine to assist.  Squrt 7 made the response on the assist.  1st arriving units found a large warehouse type structure that was well involved.  Command (15-8) ordered defensive operations only as well as exposure protection.  Squrt 7 arrived at 11:24 and the crew reported to the manpower pool.  When the bulk of the fire had been knocked down from the exterior, the crew was placed in service on a 2 1/2" hand line.  They entered the A side of the structure and extinguished fire in the areas that they were able to access.  Squrt 7 remained on scene for over 3 hours before being released at 14:44.
