Assist on Fatal MVC

On April 12th at 18:21 Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown (1-27) was dispatched for an MVC reported with entrapment and vehicle on fire.  Fire Police Captain 9-9 had come across the incident and called it in to Fire Board.  Station 10 had an engine crew in quarters, so 10-5 was dispatched to assist.  While units were responding, bystanders were able to remove all the subjects from the vehicle was that on fire.  One of those subjects was in cardiac arrest, and the driver of the 2nd vehicle was still trapped.  10-5 arrived and began suppression efforts as well as patient care.  Additional Fire and EMS resources soon arrived and began working on extrication and patient care as well.  A total of 5 patients were transported to Christiana ER. 10-5 was clear the scene at 19:02.
