On May 4th, members from Aetna, Christiana and Clayton fire companies held a joint training class at DSFS NCC Burn Building. Over 30 firefighters trained for four hours. Topics included stand pipe evolutions, basement fires and truck company evolutions. This was a great training exercise and showed how strong our relationships are with neighboring companies.

On May 8th and 11th Aetna members participated in a Wilderness Rescue Class,  taught by Capt. Carl Bittenbender  from the Evesham, NJ fire department. Day one included training in knots and rigging set ups. On day two, had a practical session in White Clay Creek where they had to remove an injured hiker up a steep embankment with a stokes basket. Students were able to apply the knowlege they gained on day one in a "real world" situation. All students recieved 3 CEUs for the training.
